Michael Marshall
65-67 Luna & Alegre, Espirito Santo

During PC:

Community Development / Merenda Escolar

After PC:

I received my draft notice a few months before leaving Brazil in 1967. Ended up spending 25 years in the Army - 12 of those years either teaching Portuguese at West Point or serving in Brazil. Since my retirement from the military in January 1993, I’ve been the Admin Officer in the U.S. Military Liaison Office in the Embassy.

My Brazilian bride of 33 yrs (length of marriage, not her age) and I have only been to Goiânia twice in all the years we’ve lived in Brasilia. I tried to locate the Peace Corps records that were once stored in the basement of the Embassy. Discovered that USAID sent them to a records holding facility in the U.S. a few years ago.

Mike Marshall
Brasilia, DF
