Comments: I served for 2 years in Serro MG, enjoyed it greatly, married a girl from the town I was serving. In 1983 we moved to Vitoria ES where we raised our family for 21 years. We have returned to MN this past year and are still adjusting to life in the USA.
Comments: I married a girl from Lavras (Edyr Resende) when I left PCV service. After finishing my BA, I did graduate work in Political Science at the Univ. of Florida. We arrived at the Univ. of Brasília in Jan 1972. We have two children, both Anthropologists. I did visiting teaching at UFMG, GWU, SUNY-Albany and Univ. of Florida. Would love to hear from RPCVs. Come visit Brasília; its 50th anniversary is in April 2010.
Retired from the US Army in 1992. Last assignment at the Embassy in Brasilia. Remained in Brasilia as a security professional until 1994. Angola 1995 - 1997. Returned to Brazil in 1999 and have been working in Brazil doing security work ever since. Three children, three Brazilian wives, two grandchildren (in Lavras). I visit the US once year. You maybe scratching your head trying to understand all this - so am I.
Went on to graduate school in library science. Worked in library development (starting new public libraries from scratch) inspired by my PC experience and training. The time in Brasil was definitely life changing for me. Now work as a public librarian specializing in consumer health information, also an interest inspired by my PC experience. Have lost touch with everyone. I remember fondly the wildly funny letters from Mike Earley that kept us in stitches and probably sane. Also fondly remember the Rabbs and the time we lived communally on a farm in Ohio after returning to the US. Would love to hear from other MG returnees.

I'm very glad to know there is a web page dedicated to Brazil's RPCVs.
I'm a college professor at the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce, southern Puerto Rico. After my tour of service in Brazil I joined the U.S. Army, after my discharge I went back to study, this to time to become a teacher. I have Master Degree in Media from Purdue University, that allowed me to teach instructional technology courses, mostly computers in education.
While in Brazil Esther Diaz-Figueroa and myself were the only PCVs serving in Minas North East. We were responsible for the 4-S Clubs program at the local level in Teofilo Otoni.
Worked at the ABAE. (school for handicapped children). I am an occupational therapist and was working there in that capacity from 1977-78 I was in Belo Horizonte working with Hansen’s disease at a local "colonia" about an hour out of town.
