| During PC: I worked with an ag co-op in a rural town 3 bus hours from Belem, Para. I extended for a year to finish a School-to-School project in the village of Limão.After PC: I returned home in Nov 1970. Finally using my degree in Landscape Architecture I went to work for a small office in Carmel, CA designing residential properties. After a year there, I accepted a position with the California Dept of Transportation designing freeway landscapes and after a year and a half transferred to the Calif. Dept of Parks and Recreation to do Environmental Impact Report Reviews then was fortunate to get onto a team working on historic park units. In 1977 I went back to Carmel as a partner in the firm I had worked for earlier and after three years, moved back to Sacramento to open my own design-build landscape firm.We did design-build for about ten years before downsizing to a design-only office in 1989. We now enjoying a fairly good demand in the high end residential market. Married Margaret (Arnold) in 1972, our kids are now 27 and 24, Charles, our oldest, graduated with his degree in Broadcasting, Christi graduated last June in Animal Science. We enjoy singing in our church choir, travel and camp when we can get away. I am a bonsai enthusiast and now have a fairly extensive collection. I am working with a volunteer committee to found a world class horticultural gardens in the Sacramento area. We have defined the site and the project desires now comes the hard part as we get into the fund raising phase. Ron Allison Aug 2000 |
